Elementary School Math: Building up from the basics
The basic foundations for all math begin in elementary school. Students are expected to master these basics so that higher forms of math can be introduced in middle school. Each year’s curriculum is based on the one before, so if your student struggles early on, the impact in later years can be significant. The key isn’t just repetition and practice – students need to be taught in a way that makes sense to them. RITES math specialists use a wide array of manipulatives and approaches to teach the different concepts of math, so your child experiences math in a meaningful way for better understanding and retention. Individual math tutoring is available all year-round. RITES Summer Math Programs incorporate these multisensory teaching approaches into a small-group setting for a socially dynamic and productive experience.
