Author Sarah Blodgett Visits RITES
Sarah K. Blodgett, the creator of Noah Text, returns to RITES this year to introduce and generously gift us with copies of her new book. Sarah created this typeface to assist struggling students with their reading. She has partnered with Rhode Island author, Tom Kiernan, who wrote the “Mad Dash” and she has re-written his book in Noah Text.
Noah Text, A Typeface for Struggling Readers
In Sarah’s own words, “Noah Text is a specialized text designed to help new readers, struggling readers, and those with dyslexia. It increases both reading fluency and speed, allowing individuals to have a more relaxed reading experience. At the same time, it enhances reading skill.”
The following is a great example of the way words look when modified in Noah Text:

The sense of security, self-esteem, and pride a child experiences when able to finish reading a paragraph, then a page and finally a book is immeasurable. Sarah’s books are a tool to aid children to achieve just that!
