The Literacy Statistics
“38.5% of Rhode Island elementary and middle school students are proficient in English language arts (ELA) or literacy skills.” (Source: 2019 RICAS State Assessments) That means the illiteracy rate is 61.5%!
Ebbing tides in RI education are pulling some students into the deep sea of illiteracy. You can turn the tide for students who are fighting to stay afloat. Give them literacy skills and safe harbor to overcome learning challenges now, navigate their futures, and become lifelong learners.
I invite you to partner with RITES in guiding the most disadvantaged students to a brighter future. You can become their North Star. Your help can give these students access to a better life that literacy skills provide. There is no better gift this holiday season.
Together we can change their course and steer them toward oceans of discovery.
Mission impossible? With your help it is possible! When you provide the key, these “failing” students unlock a treasure chest of skills and discover the map to how they learn best. This is a bounty that lasts not just this year, but forever.
You can make it possible today for 24 waiting students. Make a difference before it’s too late for students who are still waiting for the life-changing support they need to succeed! Click here now to learn about students who are waiting.
Don’t let these students drown in illiteracy – help make the Ocean State awash in literacy success for our students.
