New INDIVIDUAL PSAT/SAT PREP, specifically designed for students with learning differences!

This is NOT a group class - we work one-on-one with each student!

Most students don't look forward to high-stakes tests like the SAT, but for those with learning differences, preparing for and taking such tests can be especially unpleasant and stressful. Under timed test conditions, the daily challenges faced by LD students are often magnified, and therefore such students may often score lower than they should. With this in mind, we have developed a PSAT/SAT prep program which differs from standard programs in at least three significant ways:

The contents and teaching approach have been modified to address the needs of learners with dyslexia, language disabilities, attention deficit disorder, and executive functioning issues

For every enrolled student, a RITES specialist sets up an initial consultation to determine the student's specific needs and learning profile, which forms the basis of a highly personalized study program

We offer one-on-one training, in contrast to large commercial preparation classes; each student gets real experience with multiple practice tests, while learning specific test-taking techniques and strategies, and receiving ongoing support around the sessions to improve performance on the PSAT or SAT.

We focus on the areas that cause LD students the most difficulty:

Understanding Directions and Vocabulary of Questions
Paying Attention and Working Methodically
Study Plan Management and Continuous Organization

Our program is divided into 4 distinct modules, whether it is SAT or PSAT preparation.

The SAT format looks like this:

Math 1: Arithmetic
Math 2: Algebra I

Module 2 - Math

Math 3: Algebra II
Math 4: Geometry & Advanced Topics

Module 3 - Verbal

Verbal 1: Writing - Improving Sentences & Error Identification
Verbal 2: Writing - Improving Paragraphs & Essays

Module 4 - Verbal

Verbal 3: Critical Reading - Reading Comprehension
Verbal 4: Critical Reading - Sentence Completion

The PSAT format looks like this:

We offer a variety of packages to fit the needs of your student. Each package varies, but most include:

Initial consultation with development of personalized study plan
A PSAT or SAT book filled with examples, tips and practice questions
A binder to keep and study from of all the strategies taught
Mock tests with scored test reports
Phone and e-mail study support between sessions
